Biography
Anne Christine was born in Denmark on
the 4Th of February 1980. At the age of
ten, encouraged by her mother, she started
taking piano lessons, but soon lost interest
as her real passion lay in singing. From
an early age she created melodies and
lyrics, recording her first song (about
her favorite cat) on her dad's Dictaphone.
At the
age of sixteen, inspired by Jim Hendrix,
she started playing the guitar, but whenever
she played in school bands, she always
ended up singing, and the guitar was soon
left in a corner of her room collecting
dust. In her early twenties though, she
regained the interest for the guitar,
which has given a new dimension in her
recent songwriting.
Anne Christine has always loved traveling,
and in 1999 after finishing high school,
she went to Australia - a journey that
would have much influence on her music
career. Shortly after she arrived, she
came in contact with the Australian pianist
and composer Benjamin de Murashkin, with
whom she formed the duo, Sage. Naturally
they started writing and performing music
together, creating their own unique blend
of ambient soundscape and song, and in
2000 their first CD, Behind Open Doors,
was released in Denmark by Fønix
Musik. Over the years Sage has recorded

Through
her collaborations with Benjamin and by
exploring a deeper meaning of music, Anne
Christine discovered whole new aspects
of her voice - confirming that music and
singing truly were the path she wished
to take.
In 2001
Anne Christine moved to Australia to study
music at the Victorian College of the
Arts in Melbourne, majoring in vocal improvisation.
At college, influenced by jazz and world
music, she began writing more and more
of her own songs, which became one of
her greatest skills. Anne Christine considers
the lyrics of a song to be of equal importance
to the harmony and melody; in each song
she tries to melt her verse and music
into an inseparable entity.
After completing
her Bachelor of Music Performance in 2003,
a career as a solo artist called her.
She started a recording project of her
own works, which resulted in 12 original
songs comprising her first solo album,
When Thinking of You
Over the
years Anne Christine has performed with
various musicians and worked on a range
of recording projects including mantra
songs, meditation music and providing
backing vocals. At the present time she
is living in Denmark, where she is working
with Benjamin on Sage's fourth album,
taking their own look at the electronic
pop-genre. Alongside the music, she is
also doing a teaching course as a supplement
to her music degree.
